It started with the stones nobody else wanted to read.
Most of the diamond world is built around the absence of colour — the long, expensive climb toward a flawless, colourless white. Three generations ago, our family looked instead at the stones everyone else set aside: the ones with a whisper of yellow, a breath of pink, a depth of blue. Where the grading sheets of the day saw a flaw, we saw a fingerprint of the earth.
That conviction — that colour was the rarest and most beautiful thing a diamond could carry — became the whole of the business. While larger houses traded white goods by the parcel, we went the other way, deeper into a single, difficult specialism. We learned which grounds gave which hues, how a vivid yellow comes alive at dusk, and why two stones with the same certificate can be worlds apart in the hand.
The loupe passed from one generation to the next, and with it a way of working that no price list can teach. Today the third generation runs the house across four cities — but the question asked over every parcel is still the one asked at the dinner table decades ago: is the colour true, and would we be proud to put our name to it?
